Tonight, I was talking to Mike about the Timbers Town Hall in a couple weeks and what he anticipates and expects from it. He talked a lot about how the club was pretty competitive to begin with, but now that we have the guidance and resources associated with being an alliance club, even coaches at the younger ages can begin preparing their players for high school while still making soccer a fun game for the little ones. One thing they like about holding the alliance club title is the coaches holding themselves to a higher expectation. Most coaches in smaller towns like this are moms and dads that know the basic rules of soccer. The directors often express how proud they are to be able to say that TTNFC has the most qualified, educated, and experienced coaches in the area. Even though they had a very solid coaching staff before the alliance happened, people that join now realize that there is an expectation of professionalism and continuous growth, even if they don't fully understand what it is to be an alliance team. When the adults take their job more seriously and continue to grow, the kids are the ones that ultimately win.
