Mike Thompson
Technical Director (Mentor)
Mike has been the Director of Coaching since 2011. He is familiar to the area and was one of the first TTNFC (previously Sting) players from 1985 - 1996. Mike's abundance of experience includes playing and then coaching at Gonzaga University, being a part of the coaching staff for the Idaho State Olympic Development Team from 2003-2006, and a Region 4 staff coach from 2004-2006. Mike holds a B.A. in history and an M.A. in sports management and athletic administration.
Julio Morales
Director of Coaching
Julio joined the TTNFC coaching staff full-time in 2015. He comes to Coeur d'Alene from Missoula, MT where he played for the Missoula Strikers and Montana ODP. Julio is another Gonzaga University alumni player. His coaching experience includes Gonzaga University, Eastern Washington University, Spokane Shadow Club Soccer, RCL teams, And Olympic Development Programs. While playing at GU, Julio earned a BA in Political Science.
Matt Ruchti
Director of Competition
Matt has been a part of the director team since 2006 and has coached within the club since 2002. Matt has led five teams to state finals, won a State Championship in 2010, has taken three teams to Far West Regionals, and a Regional Championship. He also coaches at Lake City High School in Coeur d'Alene where he has been since 2003 including a state championship. Matt earned a B.A. in history education from Idaho State University and a M.A. in Initial Teaching from Gonzaga University.
Nick Funkhouser
Youth Director
Nick is the newest addition to the coaching directors where he oversees the youngest teams within the club. His playing experience comes Spokane Community College where he says his passion for coaching began. After playing at SCC, he coached at University High School and Spokane Shadow where he was won state championships to regional championships.
