Club Mission Statement

"To provide a positive atmosphere for players to develop their soccer skills both technically and tactically as well as to develop positive off-field characteristics such as sportsmanship, dedication, honesty, commitment, respect for others, a strong work ethic, and sense of self-worth."
History
Developed in 1985, Coeur d'Alene Sting began with a group of parents who wanted to provide a positive atmosphere in which their children could learn and develop soccer skills.

In May 2016, Sting Premier Soccer Club became the second club in Idaho and the ninth in Northwest to join the Adidas Portland Timbers Alliance and Sting Timbers FC was formed.

Two years later in May 2018, Sting and another local North Idaho team, North Idaho Inferno FC, merged to become Timbers-Thorns North FC with 34 teams and 680 youth participating in U5 - U19 age groups and developmental programs.

Coaching Philosophy
-
We are educators. Our first priority is to make sure that they kids have a good time, second is learning the game, winning doesn't come until third.
-
We believe that ball control is the fun part of the game. The ball is everything, this is how we score; this is also how we keep them from scoring.
-
We will encourage thought behind every touch on the ball and play defensively as a unit.
-
We are open coaches and will discuss our thoughts, ideas, and choices, however, we require a grace period before and after games or practice.
-
Life lessons carry over from soccer lessons: time, attention to detail, and discipline and character.
