During my time as the communications and social media director, I will help the current directors with communication with members of the club, surrounding community, and coaches. I will also take over the social media pages for TTNFC. The goal of these two roles is to keep coaches, players, parents, and the surrounding community up to date on occurrences within the club with a clear understanding of why the club is taking the steps that they are, especially with the creation of a club owned indoor and outdoor facility.
My hours will vary with the club with the ebb and flow of soccer season and events. During the week, I will meet at the main office at 4:00 p.m. to get an update from Mike to see if any emails need to go out to the club. After that, I will attend multiple training sessions throughout the evening in order to create posts for our social media pages and update followers about upcoming games. On the weekends I will attend as many games as possible to create posts for social media to keep family and friends near and abroad updated about games. There are also a handful of events in the near future that I will create communications about and attend.
From this experience, I hope to get a better understanding of the importance of well thought out, organized marketing and the impact it has on an organizations culture and growth. From being the communication director position, I hope to help the club improve by keeping coaches more clearly updated on what moves are being made within the organization and why. I look forward to the challenges and being on the director's side of the table when I have been on the coaching side for the last ten years.
