Of course, most coaches want to train between 4:00 to 6:00 on Tuesday and Thursdays. Unfortunately, the space often isn't available for every coach to get exactly the date and time they want. The club is lucky enough to have access to some turf fields that were built in Post Falls last year. There are two full size fields with significant side space as well. There have been up to eight teams there at a time when necessary. The space is small, but still enough to do small sided drills and keep the training worthwhile and productive. The turf option is such a great addition to the area because previously we only had traditional grass fields available. Even though there were more full fields available, teams couldn't train as often because of damage to the fields from wet weather and freezing and then thawing again. On a communications side of things, this has cut down on emails and texts that go out because directors aren't constantly reminding coaches to not do repetitive drills, stay out of the 18 yard box, stay off the sidelines, don't do too many cutting drills, stay out of the goal mouth.... Efficiency is the best! One of the things that really helps with mitigating the the space issue is the younger teams wrapping up their fall season right before the high school players are coming back after their school seasons.
