Project Discussion - 4 hours

This evening, Mike and I met up to discuss upcoming events and what my roll will be in preparing them to help them be as successful and possible. On November 12th, they are having a coaching function to celebrate successes of the fall season and thank everyone for their dedication to the club. December 2nd will be a college night where they allow athletes to meet with local colleges and celebrate athletes that have already signed to play at the next level. My role will be to get the word out via social media and email communications. We also discussed fundraising to finish the new soccer complex. Last winter the indoor complex was completed, but a substantial amount of money is still needed to finish the three full size outdoor fields that are supposed to go in on the property as well. Mike asked that I brainstorm ideas to reach out to community and other fundraising options that might be available beyond the worn out strategies such as selling coupons. After this conversation it seems like this will be a big focus throughout my mentorship.

One of the other directors, Julio, and I discussed upcoming games that he needs covered since he coaches three different teams on top of his other duties within the club. Until my mentorship began, he was in charge of social media pages. I will be covering games for the next three Saturdays for him which will allow me to see the challenges of coaching and director responsibilities since I don't have my own team this fall.
